Ashley hung her head so Alabaster couldn't see her silently crying. The stupid augur just had to bring up her mom! She hoped Alabaster wouldn't catch on to what the half-squat was pointing at.

Alabaster had caught the part about her mom. But, not wanting to bring down Ashley even more he continued with a cheery face. "Are you okay Ashley" Alabaster said, his voice full of concern.

Ashley kept her head down but answered almost inaudible.
"I guess."
She hated any topic about her mom. She would never really say why to just anyone, only those super close. She'd built her walls.

Alabaster hugged Ashley, even though he knew everyone was looking. He pulled away and said "Come on, your great. You can't let her get you down." Alabaster said cheerfully.

Ashley stiffened as he hugged her. She relaxed after he pulled away.
"Its not her I'm worried about, its who she could send me back too."
She looked up a little bit, only to regret it after seeing the stares they were getting. She looked back down at her beloved ground.

Alabaster knew at that moment she was talking about her mom, or so he thought. "Why don't we go somewhere private and discuss it?" Alabaster said while looking around at the people.

Ashley looked up at him. She stared into his eyes, searching for any reason he may back stab her. After a good 45 seconds of looking, she simply nodded and went back to looking at the ground. She made sure she didn't bump into anything as she walked.

Alabaster started to walk with her after what he thought was some sort of intense staring contest. "So.." Alabaster started with as they started walking, unaware of what to do.

Ashley was not in the mood for talking. She already had to muster up the courage to say that much. She hoped he understood why she was doing this.

Alabaster continued walking with Ashley until they were at a Private place. Alabaster looked at Ashley when they got there, clearly looking for some sort of explanation of why she was acting this way after what the augur had said. His electric blue eyes piercing through her soul, like they he was trying to find the answer.
